[Ban Appeal]

Reason: Violation of Section VI: Clause IV Autoclicking

Counter-Reason: I do not have a counter reason. It was against the rules and I should not have broken them like I did. I would like another chance to live a crime-free life on this server.

Evidence: As evidence of my crimes and the thought I have put into my ban, I will develop a full outline of my crimes and methodologies as well as the profits that I reaped from such activities. I will also recount my eventual bust. I end the appeal with possible punishments for my crimes. Perhaps my account of the event will allow for better detection of such crimes in the future.

Section I: Crimes and Methodologies
I have violated Section VI: Clause IV Autoclicking using a third party software to zombie mobs. Originally, my auto-clicking crimes involved doing other things like reading while holding my mouse and clicking it. However, my techniques quickly evolved, and I began using an auto-click software that I set to deliver clicks at a rate of 4 clicks per second. I also experimented with other auto-clicking hardware, including a robotic arm that clicks my mouse. The zombies were originally killed using diamond swords as it allowed for longer afk times. However, due to the nature of the swords to eventually break within roughly half an hour, I switched to unarmed zombie killing as it allowed for afk times as long as 3 hours.

After developing the unarmed combat technique, I further increased farming capabilities by filling my inventory with one open slot for potatoes, one for carrots, one for iron, and the rest of the slots with one piece of rotten flesh. This allowed me to fill my entire inventory with rotten flesh while still allowing an offhand for unarmed combat. I set my equipped hand to the last slot to allow my offhand slots to also fill up with rotten flesh as well.

Before farming, I would use local chat to scan the area for people. Issuing a “...” to the area around me to avoid detection. However, this time I received an unexpected phone call, and quickly and carelessly set myself up for some farming while on the phone. I had not read in the rules that auto-clicking was not permitted, but I figured that this was the case.


Section II: Criminal Profits and Expenditures
The farming at first produced little profits. However, at the peak of development using the more advanced techniques outlined above, I think I could gross about 3,000 Ecodollars per hour without being at my keyboard ($72,000 per day). I do not know my total earnings for my criminal exploits, but I estimate it between $200,000-$300,000 total. I did not maximize my profits because I only took the money that I needed for my exploits in order to avoid detection.

Most of the profits came from experience. This includes straight sales, sales to shops, as well as the auctioning and selling of enchanted tools. Smaller profits, probably $5,000 - $10,000 came from selling rotten flesh generated from the dead zombies. I also used some the other resources gained as personal food, and the iron was used in jobs for people.


Section III: Detection and Banning
I don't have the exact chat log, but I believe the conversation went something like this. I was near my computer at the time so I was able to respond, but my auto-clicker was on.
Ajp79: Walker you there?
Ajp79: Walker?
*Turns around with auto-clicker still running, punching furiously at the mod and some other bystander*
Me: Yeah?
Ajp79: Were you using an auto-clicker?
Me: Yeah why?
Ajp79: That is not permitted.
Ajp79: ever.

The “ever” part was a little over dramatic, but he was just doing his job. At any rate, I was banned within a few seconds after that. Recounting now, I was a surprisingly sloppy criminal when the cops broke down the door.
I believe I was using the technique for about a week. I am surprised I got away with it so long now, since the Section VI: Clause IV states “EcoCityCraft staff have measures in place to test for users auto-clicking and using third party programs while not at their computer.” I hadn't read this before, and I don't really believe it still. I believe the user with the mod, probably a bystander, reported me, and the the mod tp'ed to him. Then ajp79 just engaged me.

Section IV: Punishment
I would understand if the administration pulled my resident status, my multi-home, and my materials since the profits from criminal activities were to a large extent used to purchase these things. This could include a large supply of enchanted books and tools that I had stockpiled in my house. I would also understand the resetting of my mcmmo stats, as these were greatly raised during my activities.

Although I used much of my criminal profits to fund the obtaining of materials and labor for my portion of the PvP town Pergatory, I would ask that Pergatory would not be affected. The town belongs to Advocaite, and he was not involved in my criminal activities (although I used his spawner, sorry Advocaite.). If my portion of the PvP town were to be seized or griefed with my return to the server, I would prefer to be banned, as there would be nothing left for me on this server, and I would not want to wrong advocaite like that. Furthermore, if anyone else is to be negatively impacted by my return or even by the release of this appeal, I would prefer to remain shamefully banned.
