[Ban Appeal] Dieselrabbit

Reason: Town scamming

Counter-Reason: I was involved in the purchase of a town from another user, but was unable to provide any evidence for the sale (see thread #1 below). I got the town very cheap and bought it with the intention of selling it almost immediately, which I did. However, there was some miscommunication between myself and the original owner (who thought that I was buying co-mayor) and thus town was returned to him.

Shortly after this, I attempted to fix the situation as best as I could by giving the user I sold to another one of my towns. This deal was struck in-game, and again without any screenshots. I added him as mayor of my town Flintwood as we agreed, and assumed that it was settled. However, he submitted another complaint (see thread #2) and claimed that I had not given him ownership. I believe this was another misunderstanding, and should I be unbanned the offer would still stand.

As this was happening, a friend of mine ingame (mayfield2015) returned from an over 1yr absence and found that I had claimed his town for my own. I fully admit that I took control of the town after he had been offline for quite a long time, and removed him as a mayor which directly violates Section 7, Clause V.i of the rules. I have no defense for this; only that I thought he had gone offline for good, and I wanted to use the town as my own. If I'd had the chance to do so, I'd have given him the town back and some cash for good measure, but I fully understand the ramifications of breaking the rules.

I have made some poor decisions. Most notably, taking mayfield's town and removing him as mayor while he was offline was a blatant violation of the rules. I think the biggest mistake I made (as a fairly long-time player) was not taking any sort of screenshots as evidence nor clarifying the terms of the contracts I made to be sure that all parties understood what was going on. To be frank, I should have known better.

I've been banned for about 5 months as a result of this. I played on ECC for about a year and a half without any incident prior to this happening. I have donated to the server (both for myself and for others) and worked with a great deal of other players in-game who can vouch for my character. That said, I did take Mayfield's town without his permission, and I did not clarify nor give evidence to support either of the deals I made with the other users involved. I can guarantee that if I am unbanned, my name will not show up on this section of the forum again and if any of the users involved in this still wish to resolve these problems I would be happy to work with them.
