A few different Ideas Idea 1- Add everyone's money in there profile box, (in the picture below) In yellow shiny letters :0) [Benefits] Will know how much money they have 24/7, this can also be good for buying donation features from other players, buying pilot, mayor, resident, president etc... Idea 2- The website should allow you to send money to players on the forum If your not in the game. once you send the money you receive a receipt and they receive a receipt so that both players are aware of the transaction. [Benefits] Quite useful when trading on the website, If you have late rent you can pay it. Idea 3- When you vote, the money instantly adds to your total on the website, next time when you go in game you can type /collect to receive your nether stars from voting while not in game [Benefits] Don't have to be online to vote as I said before I'm not good at explaining sorry
hmm some people like their money to be private :3 also it would be an effort to program (the /collect thing)
yeah i dont really want people to know how much i have there should be a way to turn this on or off but it would also be usfull because u could go on the fourms well selling stuff and make shure the person has there money!
1. I don't support, would you want everyone to know your RL bank account balance? Perhaps give people the option of having their money displayed either as private, or public. 2. +1 I support this it would be a useful tool. 3. +1 This would be very useful, this would mean you can vote and receive ur cash even if the server is down.
Personally I would have to be against the sharing of your balance, at present I cannot give a solid explanation save for that in real life do you go about telling people the size of your bank account and how much money is in your wallet? No because it can lead to all sorts of issues. The /collect though is an interesting concept though.
I don't think everyone needs to know your balance. As for #2 and 3 I think those are great ideas if it is possible.
I don't like the first idea...people would start hiding their money in trade signs (which is always a bad idea...). Theres not really a good reason for it and i don't want people looking at my balance. Second and third ideas seem almost impossible to program...you would have to link the forums to the server in a way where both money accounts would be interconnecting. But like trevalynfar said, /collect is an interesting concept...
No... I dont want my balance displayed to the public. And if people are very rich and people find out then that person may be continuously harrased for money and that is just not good. I support sending money on the forums but this would I assume be very hard to implement
the money thing could be done with with a php plugin that allows php -> bukkit and bukkit -> php and have it run command to send money but this still needs player online can test see if u can pay pplayer offline if so then it would work and be very easy to code . by having player a request player b to pay such amount player b then accepts request and pays player a can be done but a fair bit of work for andrew thats for sure
im sorry i didn't put this in but i thought this was quite clear, the money would be private so only you can view it and no one else the benefit was if you didn't understand is that YOU know how much money you have 24/7 not anyone else. if you cant get your money private in that box maybe put it in a different area Sorry i caused confusion
Also the main benefit of the first idea was when you voted offline/online (idea 3) or when you sent money to players (idea 2) you could see the amount increase/decrease while your offline ( and as I said in the post above its only for your eyes no one else's)
You can do all that ingame, there would be issues to doing it like with the /collect function aswell where you would need to tie this website into the player data. It would also make for additional security risks where someone would only have to hack the website to really screw with the economy. I think it would be hard to do and maintain, while it might be good for some things the majority of this can be done in game anyways.
And I guess you could make a button to have a option to turn your balance on and off to view to the pubic
People may not hack very often, but that doesn't mean you make it easier for them to really mess things up. Theres a line between putting a sign saying "don't grief" on your rule board, and putting a sign that says "don't grief" on a stack of diamonds in the middle of town.
