After some testing at both Zulu's bees and my own. I went to the bees, named them and they unstack and remain unstacked, BUT once they enter the hives and exit again they do eventually stack. I tested this on a fresh swarm of bees on my own, from hives and spawn eggs. The name-tags are working correctly, it looks like the issue here is the bee's entering the hive seems to change them/render the name useless and they stack eventually after exiting.
I can confirm this is still happening. I built a bee farm to max wax for copper blocks. I name tagged about 20 bees. After about 20 mins they all stacked together.
Assuming this is still happening today after our 1.19.3 update? @ajp79 If so we'll have to continue waiting on the stacking plugin developer to fix this as the issue is still open and pending on his end.
The developer has stated: "A released bee seems considered as a new spawned entity, so stack logic is re-applied." We will need to wait for them to code this specific functionality into the stacking plugin for now. There are however work arounds we can use to fix this if it's really that annoying. Let me know.
Thanks Andrew, I stopped working with bees due to the stacking issue. It seems the 146 that stacked (all named differently) only would use one bee hive for making honey. I'll start again if there are some work arounds applied. Appreciate your time on this.
@ZuluZu & @ClarinetPhoenix I've blacklisted the BEEHIVE spawn reason. Please let me know if this is working any better than before.
I have spawned and named 30 bees and have 7 hives, they have entered and exited the hives several times and have kept their names and have not stacked. They also are producing honey! I believe this is what we want to happen so that larger groups of bees can be kept in the same enclosure for honey farming.
@ZuluZu @ClarinetPhoenix @ajp79 We have now REMOVED our above fix, and uploaded an official fix from the developer. Please do let us know if this is now properly fixed, as if not, we will have to re-implement our workaround.
Alright, looked at bees today and observed the following. Name-Tagged Bees do not stack with other bees and retain their name when entering and exiting hives. Unnamed bees will stack but when returning to the hive with pollen only 1 bee from the stack enters, leaving an unpollinated bee stack to continue collecting pollen. I believe that this is fixed and will allow for proper bee farming.
