I have heard from rummers that the entire server is made up of spawn chunks in order to build more effective iron farms, i just need confirmation if there is any spawn chunks on my island before I begin on an iron farm. Thanks!
An iron farm has nothing to do with the spawn chunks you are talking about. Iron farms can be build basically everywhere. The only thing you have to pay attention to are wooden doors nearby the place you would like to build your iron farm. Since there are no villages on the skyblock server you don't have to worry about those spawn chunks. However there are spawn chunks when you talk about Slimes. Slimes spawn below y level 40 in certain chunks. You will have to make platforms below this level to find out which chunks are slime chunks.
What Dutch said is correct. However, I would advise picking a design that does not rely upon the spawner being in spawn chunks. The only designs that come to mind would be Tengo's multiple server-breaking iterations of farms.
Spawn chunks are chunks which are always loaded, most of the good iron farms relly on those because if they become unloaded all the villages merge together which breaks it, Both of tengo teks iron foundary and iron trench no longer work in 1.8 and his new one the iron titan needs to be in spawn chunks or else it will break due to all the villages merging if the chunks unload.

I have been hearing rumors about slime spawners having to be in slime chunks for slimed to spawn, can someone clarify whether that is just a rumor or it is a fact?
@ZambieSlayer Slime chunks have always been a minecraft thing, I hardly know if its on the skyblock server, but it seems to be considering slimes will spawn in only certain parts of my platform.
