It's been bugging me for weeks, but could not make sense of it till just now. OK I'm slow... Anyhow, noted a player asking others to vote for them and mention of how this was done all the time by said player. Did not think much of the statement at first, but then started thinking on how I vote, & vote & vote and never even make it up the 20 mark. Then other bits of memory started to surface, like other players saying they never get anywhere close from voting so they just stop trying. I have always thought of voting to be fair and just figured I had missed a day or two or three but, if in fact it is possible for a player to vote more than once from different locations then this is questionably unfair ( I think ). In the larger perspective it may not matter, it's trivial I know, but still does not negate the fact that voting = chance at gaining ranks. :rolleyes: OK one may argue with me personally by thinking = well "yellow" why don't you just join the party? But how would that change the fact, that those whom don't know of this, or how to do this, or want to beg others to do this; the majorities expectations on gaining something from voting. Not to mention "I play fair". o_O I realize this may be just spitting in the wind, since our owners may not have control over voting sites and how they measure player votes, but just felt it important enough to mention here. Maybe as a community we can stop this from within by either not doing this for others or reporting players that we see soliciting others to do this. Just saying not spraying... Peace....
Players cannot vote for themselves twice in one day on the same link. However, by changing their location, a player could vote for themselves and a friend, and the friend could give stuff to the player. I don't think this is really a problem though.
THIS is a practice that is old and rarely spoken of but it's worth debating I think. Plz vote on pole... because with out our input, a new rule on this cannot even be implemented I don't think. I merely started the conversation it's up to everyone to make this issue known through voicing opinions. Let's use this Pole Vote or maybe have a more popular player in forums continue this conversation, I for one would enter my vote choice if they did, to let owners know that there is a concern worth noting. Important note, Please Please don't stop voting for our server, outside of this debate speaking to the fairness of our perkS from voting, VOTING... GIVES our server A rank up and attracts more players = more possible donors = SERVER SURVIVAL. And it's that last one that ultimately is the most important for all of us, after all SURVIVAL is what it all boils down to... IRL or IGL.
Player "usernames" can't be voted for, more than once a day (every 24 hours). During a regular month (30 day period) you can get about 120 votes.
