Prison was said to have been started to be worked on 7 months ago. Today it's not done. WHAT?!?

If you realized, during one point of time we had most of our staff leaving AEM which made some delays due to lack of man power. You can't expect the owners to work alone. There is one/two staff helping out but that's all.
After that comes 1.8 which players demand we put it on AEM and we did eventually. Bugs started showing which we also have to deal with. We can't make a server pop out just by wishing it.

Try understanding from our point of view as well.

 

Without being rude... There is sooo many staff that sit there and do not much that could be working on building/testing servers like prison... But thats not my business

 

You forget that being staff is still a voluntary work. On top of that saying that "There is sooo many staff that sit there and do not much" i feel slightly offended since staff is trying to enforce the rules on every server whenever we are online. And that doesnt feel like "we do not do much".

As Rinne stated a lot of staff left some time ago and 1.8 came out at some point, additionally as far as i know there were finals at the end of 2014 in USA so as far as alex is concerned he had little to no time on his hands to deal with all these issues at once. This does not mean he is doing all the work on his own, but he surely is the one that coordinates the people and tells them what to do. If IRL issues are preventing him from doing that then that should be respected.

AEM is a big network and i still think the owners the devs and the "regular" staff are doing an amazing job to make sure you guys can play your beloved minecraft on a server you like.

Finally i can just say be patient, we try our best to make stuff work be it factions with its bugs after the reset or getting the other servers updated to full 1.8. Last but not least OPPrison will come out at some point and i guess it will be amazing (see it like this: the longer it takes the better it will be ).

 

No I don't forget actually. But being staff on a server this big is a pretty big responsibility and I feel in some cases it gets chucked round a little... Yes I know some staff left I have been around AEM a long time and was lucky enough to be around when those staff members were around. I have never seen you online before and im sure you are a great staff member and do all you can around the place but i know a few that do a little less than that! thats all im saying...

 

I want Prsion to come out just as much as you do, we all do. It isn't just the players, I can promise you that.

Having said that, (and I am aiming this at Tree because this is your post, but this goes out to any and all AEM players who read this) you say you've been around a while and think some of our staff do nothing? A lot of players have been around a while, they think they know what it takes to be staff, what goes into being a staff member here, but you don't know the half of it. I'm gonna lay out a few facts for you and all the other players of AEM, just so you can, maybe, see a little bit of the other half.

FACTS:

1. EVERY SINGLE staff member, including Alex himself and our devs, all have full time jobs and/or school. The time we spend on the server is voluntary and unpaid, so you say you don't see some staff members on as much? We have other responsibilities as well as bills that need to be paid. Think about that before you say something negative about any of our staff please.
2. Most of our staff members, myself included, are staff on multiple gamemodes, but we have one gamemode that we spend the majority of our time on, our "home" gamemode, if you will. So, again, if you don't see certain staff members on a gamemode as much or at all, that is probably why. We have cross-server staff in case of emergencies and because we are short staffed.
3. When you think we "sit there and do not much" we are usually handling many behind the scenes incidents, most likely TRYING not to let whatever we are handling effect all the other members playing. For example: forum posts, player reports, ban appeals, watching chat on whichever server we're on, getting called to other servers in cases of emergencies, dealing with one or both of the private staff chats that we have, answering questions, helping players, and making sure everyone is following the rules. I can GUARANTEE that even if you don't see a staff member talking in chat, we are not "sitting there and doing not much".
4. Rinne already mentioned that we lost almost half our staff team last summer. What she didn't mentioned was that, of the 5 or 6 people working on Prision, 4 of them were part of the staff we lost. And still taking into account that the two or so staff members left to work on Prison have full time jobs and/or school, Prison was put on the back burner for a bit. At this time, we do not know when Prison will be released, and have no other information on it.
5. This is a HUGE one. We have 30+ staff members on this server. Do you know how many of those staff members can code? TWO! That's right, two out of our 30+ staff members can code, the rest of us can't. And of those two staff members that can code, neither of them were brought on to do that job, nor do I think they want that job. The two developers that we have are not full time devs for AEM. Our devs, as well as Alex and Ethan, have other responsibilities in addition to AEM and are doing their best to give as much time as they can towards fixing what needs to be fixed as well as Prison.

Now I know these facts change nothing and will most likely be unacceptable to most of you. But this is where we stand as of now. Things should, (and I emphasis the SHOULD part because I don't want anyone coming back in a couple of months saying that I said that so-and-so would happen in a few months, etc.) be changing for the better within the next few months as some things that have been up in the air are ironed out. I don't have any details on it, so don't ask.

I can only hope that you guys will continue to be patient with us and that we can have a more open line of communication to keep players informed of updates, release dates, fixes, bugs, etc. in the future.

Js you don't need staff to test a server. I tested skywars for AEM when it first came out.

 

Psgs and Fuzzy get paid.

 

AEM is nothing compared to what it was. It use to get 1000 people on at a time, and still get updated.. Now it has 400 at max, and can't be updated at all. (also sorry for 3 posts in a row im such nub)

Its a shame because I started in June, when there were still around 500 at most at a time.

Heres a quick question that Ive never quite figured out..... Why does your name say Premium here on the forums? It seems that its just a very few number of players that have a title on the forums if they aren't staff and I never knew why xD

 

premium is a subscription to the server, I think its $2.50 per month, and it removes all ads on the website, that's it I think xD

 

Yeah you just pay like 2.50 or something.. I just do it cause it looks cool...!

 

Psgs and Fuzzy DO get paid, but only on a job by job basis from what I understand, the rest of us do not.

And Diamonds, and everyone else, if you think we haven't noticed this then... well, I dunno what to tell you. We obviously have noticed it and have tried, with what we have at our disposal, to change it. Unfortunately most staff have limited access and power. As I said before, hopefully that will change.

But if you seriously think that any of the staff is oblivious to what has been going on you would be 150% wrong.
