I'm posting on behalf of my friend, patruyodude, 'cause his internet is being fixed and he can't get on it for another month or so. He /msg'd a staff member saying someone was advertising, and he told the staff member the server name and IP. He got banned shortly after for "Advertising". Anyway, he tried to make a ban appeal, but it wouldn't let him go to the page. I don't know if this means he is perm-banned or not, but he just wants things clarified. After he clicked on the ban appeal link, his internet cut on him. I should be able to get a hold of him if you need more details from him. EDIT: Just saw another post saying that he is perm-banned. I don't know if this means he won't be unbanned even via appeals or what.
He is probably perm-banned and did the staff member ask for the server name and ip? If not he shouldn't have told the staff member the server name and Ip he should've just taken a screenshot of the advertiser and posted it on the forums
When someone files a ban appeal they need to be able to respond to us; any questions we may have, explanations that might be needed, and so forth. So you will have to tell him to file an appeal when he can access the internet again. We do not allow players to file a ban appeal on behalf on someone else as far as I am aware. Well, I wasn't posting a ban appeal, I was simply posting and was wondering if I could give him an ETA on when/if his ban will expire or something like that?
He shouldn't have advertised to the staff member. The fact that he said the server name and the IP was totally unnecessary, and unrequired in order to get the advertiser banned.
