I know this is happening to other people also like @OpticSlender and Mrsnipe20.. I continue to lag out every 2-3 minutes, but do not really know the cause to this.. Anyone have an idea? I have also tried 1.8.1 and 1.8 so yea.. (also I am presuming Bug Reports is the right section for this)
If you are lagging out then there is most likely an issue with your connection. To determine if your connection is at fault please use tools such as speed tester (speedtest.net is a good one I recommend) to see what speed your line is currently operating at. Whilst the speed itself is not the direct cause, most issue which would cause lagging out will also cause low throughput. Please also ensure no-one on your network is using tools such as Bittorrent, or online streaming tools such as netflix, which can use large amounts of bandwidth and cause these issues on connections which cannot handle them. (Or in the case of bittorrent and other downloading systems, where it is not configured correctly)
