    Hi guys I have a few questions
    1. Why is it advised not to make a base in the nether?
    2.Why is it that there is no Obsidian for sale in the shop?
    3.Can someone sell me some obsidian? If possible?

    Obsidian is sold in the shop, & it is advised not to build in the nether because the nether resets, & will result in you losing everything you had there.

    There is also the option of using token shop to buy obsidian

    you can light a portal with a dispenser, put it front of the portal and put the flint and steel in the dispenser. then you place a lever next to the dispenser and flick it, then it will light. or you can go to spawn and go to the biome portals.
    You can buy obsidian in the shop for 750 a stack.
    As DiamondPick3r said. the nether resets and you will lose your stuff. and the nether is much smaller then the overworld, so your base could be found very easy.

    how2gotonether- use others peoples portal. easier done than said .-.

    It's advised to not make a base in the nether because it is very dangerous and it could get blown up by a ghast.
