Ok, so.. recently, many great members and donators here have quit due to the recent "thing" going around. Today, the player who got me into AEM, TommyPearuss, has quit. This was sad news to me because he was a great and friendly player and loved to play here but you know.... things never last for ever. Day by day, the community faces loss but I have written this post to encourage players to keep their heads up, forget and put all of this bad stuff behind them; also to play happily on AEM. I hate seeing people I am close to, quit. I have lost so many players who were close but that happens to everyone. It's change. Sure, change can be a pain in the arse but you just gotta deal with it you know. There will be that time where I will eventually quit but that wont be anytime soon. I've been playing here on AEM since December 2013 (some old players will think that's nothing but it's not bad for me ) and I have grown really close to the community and honestly, It's an amazing community to be part of and I'm glad I have invested so much time and money into it. For me, I would call what is happening "Dark Times" but sometimes I am a bit melodramatic, most of you guys will know that ;D. What is going on right now will blow over soon and we can all feel great and happy again ^_^. Many people would agree and many people would disagree. I totally see the reason why people would disagree but I really hoped I have helped cheered anyone up. Especially the ones who have been affected the most by it. (I would really like It if this thread would not get locked for any reason). I mean NO trouble to anyone and would hope that you guys would take this post seriously. Thank you very much for reading this extremely long post Your bud, Atomic
I agree I don't like to see people quit the server over stuff like this. They're all good people and its sad to see them leave. But it will all blow over and hopefully they'll come back
No idea whats been going on the past couple days, but I'd like to point out that the "thing" and rumors floating around should not and DO not affect how or why we play on here. I really encourage all the people that quit to take a minute and see how this doesn't affect you, and that there are many many people that care about you and want you to stay :>
When good friends quit, it affects us knowing that there is a chance of not getting contacted again. There has been a few players who quit way back who have just came on to visit but that makes me upset because you know that you won't be able to speak to them for another long period of time. Eg months..
I know what you mean atomic. With 2 years gone by, it sucks to think you make good friends, only to see them go without saying a word. Then, they come by just to visit, and it sorta acts like a tease >_>
I totally understand and agree. You are a strong and committed player basing on the time you've been part of AEM. Hats off to you sir. :3
Atomic, if I could like and re-like your post I would! <3 It is always sad to see people come and go, but that is the nature of the beast; we lose older players, new ones join up. As with any game, the player base is ever expanding and I believe we are lucky that this game draws so many people of so many different ages and from so many different regions. MC is so versatile, so fun that it draws all kinds of people and, in turn, sometimes draws unlikely friends together to form a community. It always humbles me to see how many people have chosen AEM as their community, usually for the same reasons I chose AEM as MY community. Yet, as with any community/family, there will be issues, people will butt heads, get bored, want different things, etc. If people's minds are made up, whatever their reasons, nothing will change it. I'd love to be able to ask what's wrong and then fix it right away, if it is even something that can be fixed. I would certainly hate to see anyone leave due to an issue that can be easily, or uneasily, corrected. On a more personal note, it majorly sucks watching players quit but I understand why it happens. I will continue to wish people well in where ever they are headed next and welcome them back when they visit. I miss so many old players and staff. Though it may not be what we want or it may upset us, I think attitudes about it should change, if possible. After someone leaves, people keep bringing it up as a major issue, which I completely understand, but if someone just decides to move on or be on less so they can spend time with family and friends, how can we be upset at that? I know not everyone will feel as I do, but I would hope that maybe we can be sad for a bit, wish them well, and then focus on the community we still have left? Just a thought.
Meg, I understand that change cannot be stopped. Honestly, if change could be stopped, I would do the best I could to stop it. The thing is though, you can STOP the effects of change. ex. behavior (rudeness), or perhaps simple additions to a server (perhaps a parkour course for skywars-like rinne's suggestion)
Yes behavior can always be changed and I definitely think that is a major thing that should be changed. And if a parkour would help, I would suggest it. But I don't think people are quitting over parkours are they?
Nah i couldn't think of a fair example. but things like pvp in skyblock is something a good friend of mine quit for (opticslender)
I seem to be oblivious to what this "thing" is. Would this have anything to do with Mozz quitting, cause then I realize what you mean.
