Today I was making a grinder consisting of cave spiders & zombies. A baby zombie escaped, killed me, and took ALL OF MY STUFF. By the time I killed it, [ClearLag] ~La~ Item Whore took ALL of my good items, leaving me with some s***** elite kit. If anyone is willing to give away a free/cheap Extreme kit, let me know.

[ClearLag] is also useless. I have had 100s of stacks of iron blocks raining all around me, NO lag. The only use it has is to take away everyone's hard earned items.

Please help me get my items and get rid of [ClearLag] <3

clearlag removes mobs and items, so this wont cause any lag

It also removes paintings & Minecarts, too. ClearLag is more anooying than it is useful.

Loose items are not an issue to any individual player due to the fact that they will consolidate into stacks when the same items are within range.
Across a large server however if every player was to drop a dozen types of items this would become noticable.
I have seen entire maps rendered unusable due to loose items remaining on the floor after large-scale demolition of buildings has occurred. This is a proactive measure, and one that does provide warnings.

I recommend building an off-switch into all grinders before the spawner blocks are placed, to prevent problems from occurring whilst performing work on the machine. This is how I always build them myself, and yes, I learnt the hard way.

No, clearlag has its reasons to stay. First of all, people could spam blocks and drop them everywhere and cause lag. It really does lag. If thousands of items were all on the floor at once, the game would crash. Also, if you do lose some valuables, you can tell staff and they could give you it back, however, it's not their responsibility so be careful.

Not everyone has a nice graphics card, or loads of RAM to put into their client. Some may not even know how to put more RAM into their clients. The clearlag plugin is there to prevent people lagging others out by spitting out hundreds of blocks into the world. Just because you lag, doesn't mean it's always serverside. It can be just as much clientside. I've lost three lucky picks and a diamond eff 4 unbr 4 and fortune 3 pick to clearlag and I'm not complaining. I voted three days later, got the EXP potions, and re-enchanted.
