Changing spawners

    So in one of the 1.8.X versions they added the ability to change spawners, as of now that ability is disabled. I was wondering if you could add that ability back in. Now this would be nice but at the same time it wouldn't be to op as you have to have a spawn egg to change the spawner into it. So unless you added IronGolem spawn eggs to the /kit eggs then I doubt we would be able to abuse them to much. Villager being one of the only ones that I could see being abused.
    What are the opinions on this?
    Is this something that would be considered to OP?
    Or are you going to look into how this would affect the balance of the gameplay?
    Any feed back would be great.

    I don't know why it cant be added back in. As you said I can only find the villager spawner being too OP but then again they can try to make it so that every spawn egg apart from villager can be used to change the spawner. Also you don't get eggs like skeleton or zombie or blaze (Or any other hostile mob) in /kit eggs so you couldn't go and find a cave spider spawner then make a skeleton spawner out of it. But then again I cant change anything so its up to the owners if they add it back in.

    No the one that would end up being hopelessly abused is the slime eggs that would jus be much 2 op. They sell for 40 ablock in shop and atm it is only possible to get slimeballs through swamps slimechunks and clay(mcmmo) people would just get much 2 rich with slime spawners they are sorta like iron golem spawners..

    If the management would to go through with this maybe they could change the price of slime blocks or black list it like they would with villager spawn eggs. Preferably I would like them to change the price.

    I agree that if they add in this feature the price of slime blocks would just go down, the economy would probably balance itself.

    I think the economy is quite balanced..

    I mean that it will balance itself again, should slime blocks become less rare.

    I don't like the idea because people can turn less common spawners (cave spider, literally about 5+ per mineshaft you find) and turn them into more op spawners like skeleton/zombie, which kind of ruins the economy for those who find the rarer spawners. I wouldn't mind if it was a bit like kit eggs and had a reasonably long cooldown to prevent abuse though , maybe like 2 weeks to change a one spawner at a time? Would barely effect the economy. I'm kinda mixed but im sure other people have some different opinions

    Spawners cannot be turned into skeleton or other hostile mob spammers, because no one has the eggs, it's not in /kit eggs. This would mean that spawners can be changed into passive mob spawners + villagers + slimes. The most OP spawners will therefore be villager spawners.

    Oh okay, yeah if its all those types of spawners I don't think that should be implemented. It would basically just remove the point of us having the rare wins in vote keys, remove the need for slime chunks/farms and remove the need for infinite villager breeders. Basically just makes people lazy xD

    Hmm well, the lazy thing might actually be a good point... Think I'll just draw myself from this discussion and see how it plays out.

    Or even be able to change 2 spawners in 2 weeks (as you get 2 of each eggs in every kit)
