I made a thread on this earlier because I couldn't find the appeal so I'll paste it here, sorry . I was playing skyblock earlier today on that one map with all the quartz and that Quartz hut in the middle (? I'm a little new so I don't know the names for each map) and killed someone named henry[insert a bunch of numbers here], and almost immediately he starts spamming the chat "RebornRh is a hacker". It was pretty much ignored with the exception to a couple people telling him not to spam. But during the remainder of my match an invisible person (it was NOT someone using invisibility because I scrolled to check how many people were left, it was me and one other girl.) kept hitting me over and over out of nowhere. I just kept playing thinking it was probably lag until someone just pops out of nowhere flying in front of me just watching, until I got kicked from the server. When I tried to rejoin it said I couldn't because I was banned for using a "modded/hacked client" or something like that. Could I get a little help with this, please? Why do you think you deserve another chance on the server? I feel like I was toyed with by a "dirty mod" as I was being messed with before the ban went into effect. When I say "messed with" I mean during the match while he was flying around he was trying to push me over the edge. Unless using optifine counts as a "hacked client" (no sarcasm here) I shouldn't have broken any rules, I've played all my matches fair and square.
You were banned for having a hacked client with force field. The "dirty mod" was doing their job and checking you for hacks. There are many ways that staff check for hacks but one is by flying close to you (usually behind you) and vanishing and reappearing. Those with hacked clients turn around instantly and hit that person which is likely what you did since you are using a hacked client. This is the most obvious sign of hacks and I doubt the staff involved were incorrect in banning you. However, I am willing to consider accepting your appeal but you will need to prove that you will not use hacks again in the future. Please answer the following questions within the next 24 hours: 1) Why should you respect staff? 2) Why is hacking bad? 3) What have you learned from this situation? Thanks! Christy
Sorry for the late response, I was at work. So what you're saying is that you've 100% proven I've been using a hacked client because after being hit, I turned to the direction I was being hit from? It's not common sense to turn to the direction from where you're being hit from to defend yourself? Unless using third person mode (which is how I was able to spot the flying mod) is against the rules, I don't get why this happened. I'm sure you have a way of tracking someone's win rate, why don't you check mine? Wouldn't a hacker have an unusually high win rate? And lastly, is there really any evidence I've been using a hacked client? Because I can give you several screenshots with what mods I have installed (optifine being the only one) and timestamps for when I last edited anything mod-related. If you need those screenshots, please say so. I'm on my phone right now so it's kinda inconvenient for me to do that and you not even wanting them. And for the sake of my little sister who wants to keep playing, I'll answer your last three questions. 1) Why should you respect staff? I'm not being salty, it's an honest opinion, but if this is implying staff should get more respect than anyone else, you shouldn't. Everyone gets the same amount of respect. Next question. 2) Why is hacking bad? It kills the fun for not only the people you're playing with, but for yourself too. 3) What have you learned from this situation? That turning around = insta-ban.
No, you've completely misunderstood what I said. Staff don't hit a player to check them for hacking. They simply appear behind the player and those with hacked clients usually turn around instantly. Frankly, you are being salty. Our server staff do not get paid to do what they do. They work every day to enforce rules, help players, and ensure that every gets an equal and fun playing experience on AEM. Ban appeals are a place to explain a situation and explain what you have learned and why you feel you should be unbanned. While I understand that you disagree with the premise of your ban, instantly stating that we have "dirty mod" is pretty out of line which is why I added that question for you to answer. Honestly, I'm far from pleased with your response thus far. Let's say for the sake of your argument that you did not hack. Okay, in what part of my 3 questions am I asked you to admit to hacking? I'm not sitting here saying that mistakes never happen on the part of staff members. We're human, but ban appeals are not a place to address this. It's a place for players to have an opportunity to address their ban reason and for us to ensure that players will not break any rules in the future. Can you understand this?
