Because i was not aware greifing was not allowed... i was brought in to the game by a friend... i passed so many houses already greived and destroyed so i assumed it was allowed. I dont think that perm banning me for greifing would be at all fair. I now know and will not grief... however it should be better pointed out somehow. Apologies for any inconveniences i have caused.
It is pointed out in a few places... One of which is a rule board you spawn infront of. The other is in /rules.
Pip is correct, it's pointed out in multiple places, including the area you are trapped inside when you first spawn. You are expected to read the rules of any server you join and not just assume you know the rules. Grief isn't allowed, but yes, it does often happen because people intentionally break the rules. We are often quite busy and don't get around to fixing every instance of grief on the server. We usually only fix grief that is REPORTED. If a player quits playing and doesn't report his house has been demolished, we aren't likely to notice it way out in the middle of nowhere or even near spawn. It's a never ending battle and we can't be expected to fix it all. That being said, please tell us why you think griefing is against the rules.
Right i understand. I never got around to reading the rules and will do make sure to do so next time. Im sure its against the rules cuz it sucks. look i made a mistake and im sorry to have done it. I wont do it any more even if i see houses already broken... i find the whole you cant touch a broken house thing kinda weird but anyway. Hope you can consider unbanning me because i am a really legit player. I get all my materials from my surrounding woods.. Dont believe me? check my house. i rarely use any of the materials i find in other houses around the map, i only use them if i need them... and sometimes i discard stuff i find. apologies once more. But i seriously think that it would be unfair to not un-ban me due to the mere fact that i am a good player.
You seem to be missing the point. And you just admitted to breaking more rules. You can't loot other people's houses, I don't care how badly they are damaged. You may also not take materials "from the surrounding woods" we have /warp pit. It's a resource world that is reset monthly so our build world doesn't get chopped up and looking like swiss cheese. You have no idea when those griefed houses were broken. Someone could have been there right before you and did some damage, then you add to the damage, then when we fix it, guess who's name comes up while fixing??? Both of you! So now you get banned for helping them grief. It doesn't matter how much of a "good player" you are or how much you've donated to the server. A rule breaker is a rule breaker and we have no desire for rule breakers in our community. Now if you understand this and agree to abide by ALL of our rules, we will consider unbanning you.
OK listen. I do not appreciate your aggressive tone in your writing. I am not some 13 year old punk kid. I understand the grieving thing. However the materials I gather(ie. Trees) every last one of the ones I cut down are replanted once the leaves rot. I do not mine around I simply use trees. Now I'm not ignorant and I understand the "swiss chease" analogy because I have played before and frankly it annoys me as well. But u know, your /warp wild command is ridiculous. It plants you right next to houses. You would be surprised to how often they are already damaged. I understand your rule about grieving and will comply. But I have a beef to pick with the "no using trees around my area" rule considering I've replanted all of them and more. If this causes me to remain still banned, so be it, I find your attitude aggresive and my desire to play on the server is diminishing. Ashamed considering it is a good server
People read things with differing tones. I didn't intend for it to sound aggressive. I commend you for replanting trees as most people don't. You're allowed to have farms and tree farms in the build world. The /warp wild isn't perfect and yeah people often build right next to those spawn points. You however seem quite aggressive in your response and it isn't necessary. I was trying to explain the situation to you as best as possible.
