I just opened an exclusive shop in Araedia. I sell only redstone related products. I am wondering if anyone has any ideas as to how I can really promote my shop short of being logged on 24/7 and sending out global texts every 5 minutes.
Well, I kind of exaggerated when I said every 5 minutes. So how do I get people to learn about my shop?
What do you think about cross-promotion? If another shop sells what I don't, and I sell what another shop doesn't, we could promote each other.
that happens but currently me, zRinne and Geeves rule the market system and we sell everything, so people are more likely to go to our shops

Setting a warp (as a donor) is a good start to people having access to it. I would visit other shops and check out their prices then I would adjust mine so that they are lower to draw people in. With yours being a specialty shop, you may have a slightly harder time getting people to buy there but it's not impossible. Nobody truly owns the market. Those shops are just doing well right now because people know about them.
Orly, Volk? If I do recall, before my shop broke, (thanks mojang) and before Geeves had ALL THE MONEY, my shop was the one people went to. Maybe I should fix it and show you how its done.
lol really helios? its gonna take you WEEKS to clean out the system and fix it all, plus we've got major building to do (if you haven't come damn ne'er close to finishing it) aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand we all know your attention span is that of a squirrel. And we constantly get griefed.
I'm upgrading my shop at the moment so my current shop won't restock soon. What you can do is take Volkrot shop as an example and let people build shop near you. why? Because by building shops near you, you and the others who built too will be promoting your shop as well as others shop. So it will circle around people cause if they visit someones shop, they will eventually find their way to yours and if your prices are good, they will promote your shop as well. So you need someone who has a warp (donor) - Another way is to join a donor's shop and ask for permission to sell items. But please sell what they don't because no one likes competition in their own shop. Be understanding to that. - Hope this helps

wow just a little competition in here i see - maybe I need to step things up and have a shop as well just to add a little spice Oh and aRinne has the right idea since you are specialist maybe working with others to create a Mall would be a good idea
Lol I was thinking the same thing but I still have a lot of work left to do on my project so I don't think I really have time to keep a shop up and running. Besides, voting more than pays for the upkeep on my town. It's only 6.75/day and no taxes since there are only two of us. I really don't need the extra income.
ah for me its the challenge - I wanted to beat Geeves and be No 1 for money but now she has the massive shop i might have to donate to get a warp to even have a slim chance of keeping close - but i do like the Mall idea I might explore that
Perhaps put up a mini-shop in the pit and have it direct players to go to your main shop for more? Plus, I will be directing people there from now on if it's a good shop. ;3
