Sorry if im making noob errors here or make a assumption wrong but this is my thought. You can use and light nether portals to make a gold farm yes? Well my question is if there is no one on my island will they continue to come through and result in my kill chamber going over the limit and resulting in some kind of punishment. Would it have to be turned off? how could I do this as I have noticed they are very difficult to light in the first place? Please let me know and if you don't mind explaining how you do dis TY
The chunk has to be loaded into game memory in order for it to receive a "tick" and be able to spawn pigmen. If no one is on your island or near the spawner, you shouldn't have to worry about it spawning too many.
I should also state the pigmen spawning in your nether portals are not walking in from the nether, they spawn in the portal based on a % chance that also takes into count the number of portal blocks (purple swirly blocks), which can vary via portal size.
gotta have the chunk loaded for entities to spawn/despawn , so if no one is there you're perfectly fine
