We all know that AEM is losing players FAST

Too Fast if you ask me.

So I have decided to make this thread for something i have said in game many times.
I think we need to find a way to get

    so i have an idea

    The idea is
Is to get the server on the sponsered list, For those that dont know what this is i have put it in a red square in the following screenshot

And yes i know getting sponsered can cost anywhere from $100 to $9000 but i really think we can bring alot of players to the server using this method

    @Sway Please consider this

This post is a total downer imo. We already have some sponsored advertisements up, and we're working on some new content for AEM for better player retention

Oh OK, i was unaware about that since IMO there is a very low new player rate and the old players are quitting, i think getting the server on the top of the page on one or two server lists would help out quite a bit.

Its just my oppinion, if you dissagree its fine. But i do know alot of people who agree there are too little players

I believe you are completely wrong, not all the old players are leaving, yes some of them are and that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

There's nothing wrong with a dip in players, I personally don't mind a small network for now lol..

Just because AEM isn't at what it once was (around 1,000/700ish players) doesn't mean it's dying. A lot of things happened to AEM in the past, that also doesn't mean we are at fault if that's what you're getting at.

We are doing everything in our power to work out things on AEM, I'm aware that there is a huge lack in updates on the forums in regards to what we're working on and i'm also aware that things are taking a long time to build up/release, etc.. There isn't nearly as much manpower running AEM as there was previously when the network was at 100/200 players large.

    TL;DR:

I am working as much as i can on AEM with the help of the AEM staff team.

Leaving or not is their choice, we do not own players. Sometimes people prefer minigames, well it's their choice to choose. I've seen many players joining in. When you see no players in your timezone doesn't mean there are no new players.

Thanks to Sway, Calcium, my staff friends and of course the players who keep AEM alive and well.

    We can always try ;)

alright, im getting a feeling that thing came off the wrong way,

i know how hard the staff work, i respect the staff very much.
I understand that without the staff AEM would not be the same, it probs wouldnt even exist

I have seen a couple new players but mainly on skyblock, there seems to be little to none players online on certain servers (in my time zone when i play between 6 am and 6pm) There seems to be a bit more on at my nighttime, but i know quite a few other players that agree that aem is losing player counts. I however do not believe the server is dying, while in the sense alot of people say it is. I do notice that skyblock is the most popular server on aem and see that people do play.
I do think we are losing players fast, but not so fast that we will have no players left next week, i also do not think aem will completely die out, at least for a while.

Anyway i know there are enough players but i suggested a way to get even more players.

Those that left have left already, this isn't really accurate. People go for a while and come back, AEM lost the playerbase that you speak of long ago, prior to taking this server over it was already in shambles.
This is something we're already considering in the future, and what we're doing now.
I've read this post from every direction i possibly could prior to replying to your post, I'm aware of what you're trying to say, I'm not hurt or insulted lol.

What i am trying to say here though is that we can and will do what is best for AEM and are already planning things such as advertising the server on high traffic websites. Though from experience, and that i have seen in the past, You have to constantly invest more and more into those websites to maintain that player base. It's not just a once off thing that you are proposing we do. A lot of those bigger servers throw thousands of dollars a month into websites such as minecraft-server-list.com and minecraftservers.org to maintain a consistent flow of players.

edit: To further elaborate on the advertising of the server on big server lists; A once off spot a the top of the server list website wouldn't do much justice because when the advertisement expires, we will have lost 99% of those players and end up back at square one.

From a business standpoint, the money we dish out would not make up for what we gain in revenue and players.

sidenote: I really do appreciate/value your input @Dr_Emerald
